AI Companion for Elders

What if seniors could access an AI companion 24/7—without screens, passwords, or apps? Just familiar, simple communication?

“Having just written two books on AI and spent the year integrating it into an EdTech platform, my thoughts turned to how AI might better serve our aging population. Many of the seniors I met didn’t need medical advice or news—they just wanted someone to talk to in their own language.”

Older adults (especially immigrants, Indigenous people, and non‑English speakers) experience silent loneliness, unexpressed emotional pain, and language exclusion, even while receiving medical care or living at home. This is a mental health support issue in our multicultural society.

Elders don’t need advice.
They need presence, voice, language, and routine.

For elders 65+, especially immigrants:

❌ Reading = hard
❌ Typing = hard
❌ Learning new apps = frustrating
Talking and listening = natural

Why current solutions fail:
• Text-heavy mobile apps assume good vision and digital literacy
• Hotlines assume English/French fluency
• Human counselors are expensive, scarce, and not on-demand
• Robots and advanced devices create cost + adoption barriers

Our solution is voice-first, screen-optional, and cognitively gentle.

We leverage modern multilingual speech models so elders can speak in the language they’re emotionally fluent in, not just English or French.

We want to support Canadians on their aging journey with dignity.
